The main event for us was the Grot (or grotto), a viewing station built by Sir Daniel Fleming in 1688 to provide a place to sit and enjoy the spectacular view of Rydal Falls. You can certainly see why it is such a popular spot- the waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful and there are plenty of different compositions to be had.
